Kagadi District is a district located in the western region of Uganda. It lies within the Bunyoro sub-region. The district was created in 2016 from Kibaale District. Its headquarters are in Kagadi Town. Kagadi District is divided into Buyaga East and Buyaga West counties. It has several subcounties, town councils, parishes, and villages. The district is mainly inhabited by the Banyoro people. Other ethnic groups from different parts of Uganda also live there. Agriculture is the main economic activity in the area. Farmers grow crops such as maize, beans, bananas, and cassava. Livestock keeping is also commonly practiced. The district has fertile soils suitable for farming. It experiences a generally warm climate with moderate rainfall. Small-scale trade supports many families in the area. Kagadi District continues to develop in infrastructure, education, and health services.
